GED Students

Plan to attend the 2012 Graduation Ceremony on Friday, June 14, 2013
at 5:00 p.m. in the Newport Performing Arts Center. 

Come and celebrate the accomplishments of GED graduates and ESOL students at this special event. If you wish, you may remain for the degree and certificate graduation at 7:00 p.m.

Information for GED graduates and ESOL certificiate recipients and their guests:

Photos We would like to present a slide show at the ceremony of current graduates and ESOL students.  Please send photos from class to pcarpenter@occc.cc.or.us by May 31, 2013.  If you make an appointment for a cap and gown fitting we can take a photo for the slide show at that time.
Attendance It is important for us to know if you will be walking at the graduation ceremony.  Please email pcarpenter@occc.cc.or.us to confirm your participation in the June 14, 2013 ceremony.
Cap and Gown GED graduates will wear blue gowns this year. Please contact Roberta Green or Pam Carpenter to arrange a fitting for a cap and gown from May 28 to June 7, 2013. Photos for the slide show may be take at that time.

Next Step What will be your Next Step?  The information you provide will be read at the graduation ceremony as you cross the stage to receive your certificate. Please write on a 3 x 5 card letting us know what the future holds for you.  Will you be starting or continuing college classes?  Taking a break?  Looking for work?  
Parking Parking is free for you and your guests.  Graduates and guests for the 7:00 p.m. Degree and Certificate Graduation will be arriving as you leave.
Family and Guests You may bring as many guests as you wish to the ceremony.  No tickets or reservations are necessary for your guests.
Your GED Certificate When you cross the stage, you will receive a  rolled piece of paper in place of your actual GED certificate.  The GED certificate from the college will be given to you when you return your cap and gown in the dressing room after the ceremony.  Official transcripts of GED completion will be mailed to you from the state.
Reception There will be refreshments served immediately following the ceremony in the main lobby at the Performing Arts Center.  Participants and guests are welcome.
