Institutional Research

The Institutional Research office provides the documentented measurement and evidence that OCCC is moving toward reaching its college mission and core themes. The office’s goal is to provide quality data to be used as support for college-wide evidence-based planning to achieve a quality education and experience for all students.

• Fast Facts: A one-page “fast” look at College data. Updated annually.

• Assessment: OCCC conducts two student surveys, one focused on new-to-college students (SENSE) to help discover why some students persist and others do not. {Read SENSE findings from 2012 and 2014.} The other is a student survey (CCSSE) used to identify effective educational practices at the College.

• OCCC Provides data anually to IPEDS, a college survey that collects data on student enrollment, graduation rates, cost of tuition, facutly and staff, and finances. About 7,500 colleges participate, and OCCC data can be compared to that of other colleges using the IPEDS college navigator.  Annual reports can be read here: 2012  2013 2014 2015.

• OCCC participates in Achieving the Dream (ATD) which is a tool that helps the College identify student progress successes based on evidence, and also helps identify areas in need of improvement.
