Cascade Head Biosphere

Did you know we have a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve site right here on the Central Oregon Coast? Originally established in 1976, the Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve was reauthorized and expanded in 2017. It now includes not only the iconic headland, but the Salmon River and its estuary, the forested uplands, the Pacific Ocean out three nautical miles including the Cascade Head Marine Reserve and Marine Protected Areas, plus most of Lincoln City and Otis. Join Paul Robertson, Project and Communications Manager, for an immersion into the history and current status of the area as we look to the future of Oregon’s one and only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
