OCCC students making ‘Waves’
On Friday, June 3, in the Commons, the Waves publication party celebrated the publication of this year’s edition of the OCCC journal, which features poetry, short stories, essays, and even a screenplay, along with a wide range of art created by Oregon Coast Community College students, faculty, and staff. At the party, students and staff read some of their works while the art selections were projected on the big screen. Writers and artists enjoyed conversation and refreshments, provided by Your College Bookstore, as they celebrated the publication of their work. At the event, it was announced that Daniel Galley and Brooke Foiles would serve as editors for the 2017 edition of Waves. Brooke earned special thanks for her layout of this year’s Waves in the final weeks of the term.
Copies are available for purchase at the North County Center in Lincoln City and the OCCC College Bookstore in Newport, for $15. All proceeds go to recoup production costs of Waves.
Submissions for the 2017 edition of Waves will be accepted beginning at the start of the Fall 2016-17 term. Submission information can be found in the first pages of Waves.
