Learn about western Oregon Tribal history, importance of Tule for Native American people, Tule plant identification, proper gathering and processing methods along with learning traditional Native American weaving techniques to create a Tule basket. Taught by Stephanie Craig, a member of the Grand Ronde tribe and cultural erhnobotanist, specialist in Northwest Native American basketry, students will gain insights and skills in how to traditionally process local materials and learn different local tribal weaving techniques and practices.
