VITREOUS ENAMELING
No, Vitreous Enameling isn’t the name of a Greek shipping magnate. Instead, it’s a wonderful new course never before offered in OCCC’s community education lineup! Enameling is the ancient art of combining the variables of glass, metal, and heat to create long-lasting beautiful works of art. In this three-hour workshop, you will learn about the history and practice of enameling, and then turn theory into practice as you plan, prepare, and kiln-fire at least two colorful pairs of enameled earrings. All supplies will be provided, and you will be able to wear your creations home. Please wear cotton or other natural fibers and closed-toed shoes. $30 materials fee includes your choice of two pairs of copper shapes with ear wires and all safety equipment, plus use of a variety of transparent and opaque enamel powders and all tools.
