This fall, OCCC will return to the coast a powerful CCB program unlike any other in the state.
Most Construction Contractors Board courses help prepare test-takers for the big CCB exam, but then test-takers must travel to a testing center (generally in the Valley) for the test, at a later date.
Partnering with Clackamas Community College’s Small Business Development Center, the Oregon Coast Community College SBDC can offer Lincoln County residents a two-day intense program (a Friday and a Saturday) that includes not only the preparatory classwork, but also the exam. Once the weekend is over, the testing is complete. The first time we offered the class, last winter, six of our seven students passed the tests on the first attempt.
The CCB exam/prep workshop is coming in the fall. Registration online will be available soon; to register early, or to learn more, call OCCC’s SBDC at the College’s North County Center in Lincoln City, 541-994-4166.
This Construction Contractors Board (CCB) class
will provide the following information:
Business Structure, Business Finance, Business Taxes
Bids & Estimates, Contracts, Project Management, Lien Law
Oregon Code, Safety, Environmental Issues, Building Envelope
Oregon Construction Law, Employees, Subcontractors
How it works:
After each Lesson an exam will be given on the topics presented. The exam is timed and is not an open book test. The passage percentage for each exam is 70% or above. If you do not pass all the exams you will need to retake the ones you missed. There is a $50 fee for each time you need to retake an exam. The course is offered by the OCCC Small Business Development Center (SBDC), in
partnership with the Clackamas Community College SBDC.
